Description

A wall plotter is a type of drawing machine used to produce graphics on vertical surfaces using a system of pulleys, string and motors. A carriage, is suspended by string or chain between two stepper motors, which can pull the carriage in different directions, dragging a pen or other implement across the surface of the piece. It consists of two major systems:

  • Hardware: The electronics, physical components and Arduino system required to physically move the pen across the canvas.
  • Software: Supporting software to convert images into a series of commands that the hardware system can execute to reproduce it.

This wall plotter relies heavily on the Der Kritzler project created by Tinkerlog
